Strong operating momentum and capital optionality outweigh execution and flow risks.

Latest call · H1 2026

Buy: Jupiter delivered record £73.7bn AUM, up 36% from year-end, positive net inflows, £51m underlying profit before tax including performance fees, and stronger-than-expected CCLA synergy execution.

The recovery is becoming tangible, but the investment case still depends on sustained flows and CCLA performance improving; management offered no precise second-half flow outlook and acknowledged performance fees could be no higher than the £9m earned so far.

Near term

Second-half net flows will remain highly sensitive to investor sentiment and geopolitical developments after the June pause.

Performance-fee revenue is volatile: management retains a £20m full-year expectation but said it could be no higher than the £9m recorded in the first half.

Further CCLA integration savings should support earnings, with roughly £8m expected in 2026 and the minimum run-rate target raised to £17m by end-2027.

The remaining share buyback and potential additional capital return could support the stock if management does not find accretive M&A.

Longer term

Pre-existing Jupiter investment performance is a meaningful catalyst, with 77% of assets outperforming over three years and newer UK, European and Origin teams showing strong results and client engagement.

Operating leverage is improving: the cost:income ratio excluding performance fees fell to 77% from the prior half, against a 70% medium-term target.

CCLA offers scale and access to non-profit clients, but its £14.6bn AUM currently has weaker investment performance and a lower 42bp average fee rate, limiting the quality of acquired earnings.

The £173m surplus capital and 3.5x regulatory coverage provide flexibility for organic investment, selective acquisitions or shareholder distributions.

Red flags

CCLA investment performance remains below target, and management's evidence of improvement consists only of early signs following changes to portfolio composition.

Management was unable to provide a meaningful second-half flow outlook, leaving earnings leverage exposed to client risk appetite and market sentiment.

Performance-fee guidance is inherently uncertain; management explicitly said full-year fees could be no more than the £9m already earned.

The 70% cost:income target has no firm delivery date, and the integration savings still need to be converted into sustained reported profitability.
