The fundamentals layer

Comparable names without hiding the accounting context.

The gap

Most cheap fundamentals APIs end at EDGAR.

A US-only API can be excellent for a US-only product. OpenFilings is built for the next question: the same metric on a Japanese, European, Chinese or Hong Kong company, available to both your application and your financial agent.

FAQ

Cross-market financial data

Which accounting standards does OpenFilings support?+

The canonical taxonomy maps values reported under US GAAP, IFRS and supported Asian standards including JP-GAAP. Every KPI response keeps its accounting standard, period and currency.

Does every one of the 62 markets have identical KPI depth?+

No. OpenFilings indexes companies across 62 markets, while standardized financial depth depends on the issuer, report and available pipeline. Supported values use the same canonical names; unavailable values remain missing.

Is cross-GAAP normalization lossless?+

It is a comparable canonical layer, not a silent restatement of every local disclosure. OpenFilings keeps the source filing, accounting standard, currency, period and validation status attached.

Can an agent use the same taxonomy?+

Yes. get_company_financials returns selected canonical line items over multiple fiscal years through the hosted MCP server. REST and Python use the same financial data layer.
