FAQ
Connecting a financial agent
Does OpenFilings have an official MCP server?+
Yes. The first-party hosted MCP is operated by OpenFilings.org. It is available on Free at 100 requests per day and on Pro at 2,500 requests per day.
Does it work with Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT?+
Yes. Those clients can connect to the same remote MCP endpoint. OpenFilings documents Cursor and Claude setup, and any compatible streamable-HTTP client can use the server.
Do I need Pro to try the MCP?+
No. Free includes 100 shared REST and MCP requests per day. Pro adds 2,500 requests per day plus analysis, transcripts and the full supply-chain graph.
When should I use MCP instead of REST?+
Use MCP inside an agent loop and REST or the Python SDK inside your own application. They use the same account, financial data layer and shared quota.
