Connect OpenFilings to Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT

Point your agent at https://api.openfilings.org/mcp — filings, KPIs, earnings calls and supply chain in one MCP. Usually under a second once the filing is ready.

OpenFilings isn't in Anthropic's or OpenAI's official connector directory yet — add it as a custom connector by URL. That works today without waiting on directory listing.
1

Claude Desktop

Remote connectors are added from Settings, not by hand-editing a config file — the same mechanism as claude.ai:

  1. Claude Desktop → Settings → Connectors → + → Add custom connector
  2. Paste https://api.openfilings.org/mcp → Add
  3. Click Connect on OpenFilings → sign in
Advanced: API key instead of signing in

On the “Add custom connector” dialog, open Advanced settings and set the header below instead of signing in:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "openfilings": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://api.openfilings.org/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "X-API-Key": "of_your_key_here"
      }
    }
  }
}
2

Claude.ai

  1. claude.ai → Customize → Connectors → + → Add custom connector
  2. Paste https://api.openfilings.org/mcp → Add
  3. Click Connect on OpenFilings → sign in
  4. New chat → + → Connectors → enable OpenFilings

Team/Enterprise: an Owner adds it first via Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web; members then connect from Customize → Connectors.

3

ChatGPT

ChatGPT connects via a custom MCP connector in the web app (Plus, Pro, Business, or Enterprise). Enable developer connectors first, then add OpenFilings:

  1. Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced — turn on Developer mode.
  2. Settings → Apps & Connectors → Create (custom connector).
  3. Name: OpenFilings — URL: https://api.openfilings.org/mcp
  4. When asked how to sign in, sign in (recommended). Or an API key: header X-API-Key, value your of_… key.
  5. In a new chat: Tools → Use connectors — enable OpenFilings.
OpenFilings MCP tools are read-only (analyst brief, earnings transcripts, filings, KPIs, sections). Plus and Pro can use them; write-capable connectors need Business or Enterprise.
4

API key (scripts, Cursor & fallbacks)

Sign in — then create an API key on My Page before connecting an agent.

Connector submissions may require our Privacy Policy and Terms.

5

Cursor

Open Cursor Settings → MCP and add a remote server, or edit .cursor/mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "openfilings": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://api.openfilings.org/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Reload MCP, then click Connect on openfilings and sign in.

API key fallback

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "openfilings": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://api.openfilings.org/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "X-API-Key": "of_your_key_here"
      }
    }
  }
}

Replace of_your_key_here with a key from My Page → API Keys.
