Strong Q3 momentum is offset by unclear FY26 earnings delivery, margin pressure, and working-capital opacity.

Latest call · 2026-02-02

Hold: Q3 was strong on reported growth, with income up approximately 42% YoY to INR61.8 crore, EBITDA at INR12.29 crore versus a loss last year, and PAT of INR7.03 crore.

However, nine-month revenue growth was only 13.29% to INR203 crore, margins moderated to 26.12% EBITDA and 15.55% PAT, and management did not reaffirm the previously cited INR85 crore FY26 PAT target despite analyst pushback; the growth story is credible, but execution and guidance quality remain unproven.

Near term

Q4 should benefit from the company’s recurring seasonality, with management expecting a stronger admissions quarter than Q3.

The J.K. Shah online partnership is expected to begin contributing from around April, but commercial terms were not quantified beyond being described as favorable.

CAC and performance-marketing intensity remain elevated for new partnerships; management expects optimization and higher referrals to reduce acquisition costs.

Management has issued 600 offers for business-development executives, creating near-term execution and cost-absorption risk.

Longer term

Management targets a return toward approximately 30% EBITDA margins and 20% PAT margins, driven by higher ARPU, referrals, organic leads, and productivity gains; this needs to be demonstrated in reported results.

The model benefits from partnerships with premium institutions and an asset-light delivery structure, but Jaro’s differentiation may be vulnerable if institutions bring marketing, technology, and course-development capabilities in-house.

The planned expansion from professional upskilling into broader commerce education could enlarge the addressable market, but it also introduces a less-proven customer segment and execution complexity.

Revenue quality depends heavily on partner retention and learner completion; management said the current partner base is 32 and that some low-performing partnerships have already been exited.

Red flags

An analyst highlighted prior commentary citing INR85 crore FY26 PAT, which would require roughly INR53 crore PAT in Q4 after INR31.58 crore in nine months. Management only said it would try its best and did not reaffirm the number.

The company has significant unbilled revenue and acknowledged that it can remain outstanding for 12–18 months for MBA programs and 24–30 months for BCom programs. Management could not provide the expected unbilled-revenue-to-revenue ratio even after direct questioning.

Management did not provide clear market-share data, online-versus-offline degree volumes, or a quantified framework for the addressable segment specific to Jaro.

Reported learner outcomes are based on broad internal claims of 70%–80% success and referral benefits, but definitions, cohorts, and independent verification were not provided.

The business remains materially dependent on performance marketing during soft admission periods, while the planned hiring ramp could pressure margins before productivity catches up.
