Latest call · Q2 2026

Hold off on buying until execution improves:

Q2 revenue fell 13.5% to $8.1 million, adjusted EBITDA turned negative at $1.3 million, and cash declined to $6.5 million. Management reaffirmed FY2026 revenue guidance of $45 million-$50 million, supported by $32.3 million of contracted revenue and a $66.3 million pipeline, but reaching the outlook requires substantial conversion of early-stage opportunities and successful A-rated carrier and HitRix launches.

Near term

The next two quarters are critical: management expects $14 million of contracted revenue to be recognized in 2H26, while seasonally stronger November-December selling and January renewals should test whether the revenue timing explanation translates into reported growth.

The A-rated carrier transition is expected within roughly 30 days and could unlock larger brokerage houses, but management gave no quantified booked revenue or timing beyond a claimed 20%-30% uplift to projections.

HitRix is expected to launch in the second half of 2026, reportedly within weeks of the call. Adoption, large-group submissions, and initial conversion—not demos or broker enthusiasm—will be the key evidence.

Gross margin may settle around 45%-50% as the company relies more heavily on distribution partners, according to CFO commentary.

Longer term

The potential upside is meaningful if Health In Tech can become a scaled marketplace across brokers, TPAs, carriers, and large employer groups; the 933-partner base remains small relative to management's stated addressable universe.

HitRix and the three-year rate-stabilization program could expand the addressable market and improve platform relevance for large groups and municipalities, but neither has yet demonstrated material revenue contribution.

The competitive moat remains unproven. Management described proprietary AI, data parsing, and marketplace capabilities as differentiated, but analyst Q&A did not establish exclusivity, switching costs, durable pricing power, or a measurable advantage over incumbent insurance technology and carrier platforms.

The model could remain structurally dependent on carrier access and partner distribution: an A-rated carrier is necessary to reach some large brokers, while partner economics may pressure gross margin.

Red flags

The quarter's revenue decline was attributed to onboarding and policy effective-date timing, but the company is asking investors to prioritize non-GAAP-style visibility metrics over the reported revenue trend. The explanation remains difficult to validate without customer-level, carrier-level, or subsequent-quarter evidence.

Management's pipeline conversion range of 15%-40% implies substantial uncertainty. Of the $66.3 million pipeline, only $1.9 million was already contracted; the remainder was still quoting or binding, so pipeline value should not be treated as backlog.

The CFO did not fully bridge the $17.3 million of first-half recognized contracted revenue plus $14 million expected in the second half to the $45 million-$50 million FY2026 guidance, instead relying on five more months of new sales and pipeline expansion.

Profitability deteriorated materially: adjusted EBITDA shifted from positive $1.6 million to negative $1.3 million, while operating expenses rose to $7.3 million. With $2.9 million of operating cash use in Q2 and $6.5 million of cash, further investment could create financing or dilution risk.

Accounts receivable days rose sharply to 55 from 20 a year earlier. Management cited historical improvement, but did not identify the current cause, expected normalization date, or whether the increase reflects carrier concentration or collection risk.

The claimed 20%-30% increase from obtaining an A-rated carrier is an aspiration rather than committed guidance, and management did not quantify the business currently blocked by the rating requirement.

The company capitalized $0.8 million of software development costs while reporting accelerating losses; investors should monitor capitalization policy, cash conversion, and whether platform investments produce measurable customer or revenue gains.
