Rate limits

Every plan shares one daily and monthly credit pool for REST and MCP. Credits are weighted by endpoint (search / L1 MCP = 1, financials = 10, supply chain = 20). Past your monthly allotment, calls draw on a prepaid credit balance you top up whenever you like — on Free too. Nothing is billed in arrears.

What counts

  • Metered — REST and MCP share the pool above (L1 discovery = 1 credit each).
  • Not metered — list_notifications.
  • Failed requests — soft-refunded to 0 credits (row kept for OK/KO analytics). Anything drawn from the prepaid balance goes back to the balance.

Windows

  • Daily — resets at UTC midnight (velocity guard).
  • Monthly — resets on the 1st of each calendar month (UTC). The plan allotment is spent first, then the prepaid balance, which never resets.

Monitor Dashboard → Usage. The daily cap is a velocity guard with nothing behind it — when it trips, the API returns 429 Too Many Requests and waiting is the fix:

{
  "detail": { "error": "quota_exceeded", "dimension": "daily" }
}

Prepaid credits

Top up in packs of $5 / $25 / $100 / $500 at a flat $0.01 per credit — no volume bands, no expiry, no subscription required. Once the monthly allotment is spent, each call debits the balance. When the balance cannot cover a call the API returns 402 Payment Required — waiting does not help, topping up does:

{
  "detail": {
    "error": "credits_exhausted",
    "dimension": "balance",
    "credit_balance": 0
  }
}

The response carries X-Credits-Required and X-Credits-Balance headers, plus a top_up_url. Buy credits from Dashboard → Usage; see Pricing for the packs. Business covers higher committed volume.

Burst guards

Some tools also have short burst guards in addition to the daily and monthly allowance. When a burst limit trips, the API returns 429 Too Many Requests — wait a moment and retry.
